The Rt. Rev. George B. Fincke

The Rt. Rev. George B. Fincke, B.A., M.Div., D.D., grew up in a pastor's home; he was one month old when his father was called to his first parish.  Bishop Fincke received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in History, from Bob Jones University in1976, and later received the degree of Master of Divinity from Reformed Episcopal Seminary in 1979.

He continued his theological education under the tutelage of the Rev. Dr. Philip Edgecumbe Hughes at Westminster Seminary, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and later under the Rev. Dr. Alister McGrath at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford .  He received the degree of Doctor of Divinity, honoris causa, from Cranmer Theological House, Shreveport , Louisiana .

         
 
             
   


Bishop Fincke was ordained to the presbyterate in February 1981, and served parishes in Cape May , New Jersey and  Clearwater , Florida , before being received into the Reformed Episcopal Church as a presbyter in 1986.  During that same year, he became the Rector of St. Paul's Reformed Episcopal Church, Oreland , Pennsylvania .  In 1994 he was called west to serve as the Vicar of All Saints Mission in  Vacaville , California .  He accepted the call to King of Glory Reformed Episcopal Mission on Easter Day, 2004.
 
Bishop Fincke was consecrated to the episcopate on June 21, 1996 by the Most Rev. Leonard W. Riches, Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church, along with the Rt. Rev. Royal U. Grote, Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of Mid-America, the Rt. Rev. Sanco K. Rembert, then Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Southeast, and the Rt. Rev. James Cortez West, Bishop Co-adjutor to Bp. Rembert in the Southeast..
 
Bishop Fincke has been active in community service for many years.  He is Distinguished Past President of the Jenkintown, Pennsylvania Kiwanis Club.  In Lower Township , New Jersey he served as the 1st Vice President of the Baytown Kiwanis Club, and he was active as an advisor to the Mayor of Lower Township.  Bishop Fincke is also an Eagle Scout.
 
He is married to Ann Caskey Fincke, whose father was also a pastor. They have four children; Kathryn Joy Fischer (husband, Matthew), Emily Louise, Elizabeth Margaret, and Andrew David.
